Yup. I have seen that video awhile back.
And it all makes perfect sense!
The only obvious difference ofcourse is that in the video he is applying to wrapped sheathing, and I dont have that.

SO I will be installing my nailing flange directly to the exterior T1-11 on my house.....caulking,...using a narrower band of tape...since I cant use 6-8" tape.
Then putting up the trim,....cauling the hell out of that.....and mabe a nice little z at the top.
Now worries,.....

Sounds like you have a handle on it.
For the top piece of Z flash, make sure this is done as best you can...this is the most important area after all.

What is the reason nobody suggested (assuming there was no sheathing under the T1-11) nailing and flashing the window to the studs, then installing the T1-11 over the flashing? Frame goes on over the T1-11. This is the method I've used. T1-11 without sheathing (directly over builders paper or housewrap) is common, since it's rated for that even in hurricane-prone areas.

I would pull off the one sheet of siding, pull the studs that are in the way. install header, king studs, jacks and criples. Opening should window plus 1/2" repair house wrap install window and flash it. Make a nice cut out in the sheeting and re-install.
