Problem with new windows?
I replaced all my windows a year ago. I am now noticing that the top third of decorative interior wood molding appears to be slightly separating from the wall. It is a very small "crack" which just may be noticeable because the paint or caulk has cracked from the slight movement.
I have a couple questions; Can I "repair" this by recaulking or do I need to somehow nail or reattach the molding to the drywall, and Could this be an installation error? I doubt that it is a "coincidence" but the house has had settling issues in the past few years. Is it possible to tell? |
Max, can you post a pics of the area?

Push on the molding to see if it moves. May have just not been nailed in the right spots so it flexed.
If someone used cheap painters caulking, that's one reason it may have cracked. I use Alex 230 and seldom have cracks. |
