Question About Window Tinting
 

We just upgraded the entry door to the house with a Pella door and sidelight.

Question is, since I hate sidelights, but we are stuck with one, can you get some kind of window tint to darken the glass to help keep out prying eyes???

Yes, there are several tints out there, from dark smoke to mirror finish, but keep one thing in mind, when the lights are on inside and its dark outside you are still visible behind most of them.

Thanks, was under the impression the window tint would make it much harder to see through at night (our goal)

Absolute rule; if you can see out in daylight, they can see in at dark. sorry

You could try something like this:

The gila frosting film works fairly well for privacy, as long as you are more than a few feet away they will only see a blurry dark shadow.
