Well, seems that I may have found something that will at least slow their growth. I was talking to an engineer friend of mine and he suggested borax, what? Yep just like you find in 20 mule team borax, he says its not harmful to humans but fungi don't seem to like it. Tried it out on Friday and it seems to be the best thing I can find since napalm is in short or restricted supply and I couldn't find anyone willing to fly the B-52.

Geez. good thing I'm back. I figured it out, you didn't give us enough information, and therin lies your problem...what the the mules do...or doo are the usual cause of the mushrooms issues. And 20 of em?? Why don't they eat the mushrooms ...no wait I got this one too, cuz they would create more mushrooms?. No wait. Why was the engineer using borax on mushrooms? Because he forgot his pickaxe?

mushrooms are colonial organisms that, once established, are very difficult to get rid of. they make fuzzy white colonies under ground called mycelium. that is the real bugger, not the caps and stems you're seeing pop above the ground. those are basically just sex organs. if you want to stop them, you've got to kill the mycelium. it (they) can live for centuries and spread like the plague with the right food source.

your best bet is to go to your local grow shop, get a fungicide, and get at the colony. dig or drill narrow holes in the colony area and administer the fungicide below the ground as well as on the mushrooms that you can see.

that should take care of it.

just get something organic. you really don't want to mess up your underground biosphere.
