Tree Root Migration
 

Use recently acquired my fathers house after he passed away. He has some really big trees in the yard and I had a question about tree roots. I've seen some of the roots starting to pop up in the yard and working their way towards the house and the driveway. What can I do to stop this just short of cutting down the trees? Do I dig around the tree root just short of the driveway and hack at it with a chainsaw? Add chemicals to the yard to kill the root? Thoughts please...

You don't want to kill the roots if you want to save the tree. I would talk to a local Arborist [tree doctor]
