Fishing?

How many of you guys fish and what do you fish for locally?

Chris 05-10-2012 09:01 PM

Here we have large mouth, trout, striper, crapppie (of all sorts), Catfish and that is about it. I like to here obout different kinds of fish from different areas of the country.

I fish from time to time, but it's been a while.

Seems every time I make solid weekend plans I get rained out or something else comes up.

Here we fish for perch, pike, large and small mouth bass, bluegill, carp, catfish, walleye, musky, specks, steelhead, lake trout, and the list goes on.

My favorites are bluegill, perch and walleye. Pike are fun but I don't care to eat them that often.

If ya ask someone from Michigan what they are fishing for they will say "what ever bites".

How do you fish for some of those we don't have?

oldpaintdoc 05-12-2012 11:10 AM

Hook, line and sinker of course.:p

Many, many ways, but these are a few.

Pan fish is basically bobber fishing using worm, maggots or crickets.

Pike and Musky we troll or cast like in bass fishing using larger plugs.

Steelhead we back troll in rivers from the big lake.

We have about everything, but I like catfish.

Catfish.
You just cant beat a fresh blackened catfish.
On occasion we head out to the bay for some salt-water stuff.

How do you prepare it?

I've tried to blacken things a few times. I never get it to stick right.

It just grasps the bottom of the pan and is a PIA.
