Latex Solid Color Stain

An existing deck was stained using a solid color latex stain. The stain has weathered, but still is mostly OK with just a little peeling. However, certain sections of the multi-tiered deck are being replaced with new Douglas Fir lumber, and I found a matching color in the Ace Woodroyal Deck Stain line ( a solid color latex stain ). Anyone know of a superior product to use in this application - either a better brand of solid color latex stain or a different but better product that still would come close to matching the solid color latex stain already on the deck? Thanks.

I second what Chrisn said. I've been extremely happy with Arborcoat since it came out, and strongly recommend it.

Thanks to both of you guys. Two questions, do you think a solid color Arborcoat could be painted over a similarly colored weathered but intact latex solid color stain, and durability wise how do the two compare? Thanks for the tips.

There will be no problem putting the Arborcoat over another water base solid stain, or even paint for that matter. In my experience it has excellent adhesion properties, so unless your applying it over dirt, I don't see how you could have any problems.

Durability wise? I think it's excellent.

This sounds great! I am going to plan on redoing the whole deck with the solid color Arborcoat. Thanks for the help!
