A Question for Contractors

Hi--I have a quick question for paint contractors. I'm doing some research for a white paper and am looking for responses to this question:

What would a paint manufacturer need to do, to get you to try their new product?

Thanks it!

Thanks for taking a look.

John

I like to try new products. I have my favorites, but I'm always interested in something newer/better. Though for sure newer and better don't always go together.

Tell me what make the product special.. What sets it apart, and why I should try it.

I'm going to try two new products in the next couple weeks. PPG breakthrough because I have heard from reliable sources about its bonding abilities on problem substrates, and it recently became available to me. And Olympic rescue on a small deck at my house because there is a lot of hype about these new thick acrylics and there supposed longevity. I want to test it myself.

I have never used the breakthrough, although I use almost all their other products, pretty much exclusively, way less expensive than SW and or BM, with the same quality(IMO). Be sure and post back as to your results

I'm with chrisn. Free product almost always works to get me to try something new. I'm a bit of a paint geek and like to know all of the details of what's in it, and a good explanation of its features and benefits. Have you tried a local PDCA chapter? I'd get myself in front of the chapter during a meeting and bring along a few cases to hand out.
