Default Updating home with paint

I am updating a vacation home currently. This manufactured home was clad with faux oak veneer cabinets, faux crown molding, faux baseboards, and faux trim pieces. With some light washing with TSP, light sanding, and light priming, the paint stuck very well. Here are some pictures showing the before and after of some of the cabinets.

Nice project Mark. This is your mountain, lake or river house?

I wish, since I am over-insured.

That's a big improvement.

I have painted some of that type cabinet before. Instead on veneer, they are wrapped in some kind of paper looking stuff.

What did you prime with? I usually use Bin.

I've been scrubbing the cabinets with a strong solution of TSP on a scrub brush. Is does a great job of roughing up the finish. Once dried, I've been using a custom Big Box color, with a built in primer. I also bought a gallon of Kilz, but haven't needed it yet. Tomorrow, we start on the kitchen cabinets. I'll give you an update and a few after pics, but here is the before pics.

Be SURE to rinse, rinse, rinse and then rinse again with clean water or that fancy paint will NOT stick

Well, 5 more days of work, 6 gallons of paint, and the walls are finally done. Now we move onto flooring and installing the new doors on my next trip.
