Drop Ceiling Question
 

I have my grid laid out and now have my ac vent coming out of the ceiling. It is in the middle of a cross tee. I do not know how to cut the cross tee and still have it secure with the vent in the middle.

It would probably be eaiser to move the vent. Seal up the present one and cut another in the duct where it comes out in the center of a tile. If recutting is not possible, use flex duct to redirect the vent.

i only dropped my ceiling 3" dont have enough room to run duct under joist. this stinks

There is a duct system that comes in 3"X10" X 2' that will fit in that space and allow an offset. It will restrict the flow some but it is better than nothing.
