GE Fresh Food Evap. Fan plug melted?
 

GE Authorized repair guy came out and he said he could wire in a new plug, but GE wont allow him to...is this something I can do? Would any other NON GE tech be able to do this? GE cant be using Alien technology.

They were nice enough to give me a discount on a new fridge for $1,400+ (the fridge is only 3 years old) I am not happy about it.

Why would GE not allow an authorized repair technician to replace the plug ?

I don't think "be able to" is as much an issue as not being "authorized to".
