Take new one out and install the old one. If work then it good if not then no good

Suppose to be cleaned once a year.....sooner if you have pets ( hair ).

Compressor may have been shutting off on it's built in safety/thermal switch.

The fan may not be running at the proper speed. You can test it by putting direct voltage to the fan bypassing the control board. If it runs faster connected this way the problem is more than likely the control board. If it still doesn't run faster the fan would be the problem. If it use to run ok that is.
