Amana Ice Maker
 

My Amana frig is approx 20 years old. The ice maker died about 2 yars ago.
We bought a new ice maker and installed it-waited 24 hours and it did not fill. We checked the inlet valve and found that the side to the ice maker was not working. We replace the inklet valve, waited 24 hours and it still does not fill though the water in the door does work. Any ideas?

What does the icemaker do? Sit there dead, go through the motions but not fill, gets stuck part way through a harvest?

The model number is SD25NBW
Since last night I have manually filled the ice maker and while the cubes froze, it did not empty. I have taken it ot, unplugged it and reinstalled it.
How do I know if it is going to work?
It was not going thru the motions, just sitting there.
Ex said the original was filled from behind and new was filled from side, he moved the fill to adapt.
Can we make this work?

What part# did you get?

Probably best to check for power to the icemaker at the wire harness...normally power is across the black and white ( 110-120 volts AC ), yellow or tan is for the water fill valve and a green ground.

SQD25NBW bought D7824706Q which is the only icemaker identified for this model

A module style icemaker, will have test points at the front behind the front cover....can use a volt meter to see if power is acually comming into the icemaker to make it run.
