GE GTS17 compressor problems
 

Fridge quit cooling but fan runs. unplugged for 24 hrs but compressor just clicks and wont run. any suggestions??

If the compressor requires a capacitor to start, the capacitor could be bad.
If the compressor has accessible electrical connections, take a look at those and see if any wires have burned off.
Lastly, lay a block of wood along side the compressor and smack the block with a hammer and see if the compressor comes back to life.

Starter/overload relay. If it's bad it could appear burnt. If it rattles when shaken it's bad. It's an electrical part on or inline with the compressor. If it's not bad the compressor is.
