I started this thread by request. Place all gadget/computer questions here. I think a lot of it might fall under appliances, so lets see where everyone puts there question/comments.

denon receiver question
 

This is for electronic savvy persons. I have an almost 2 yr old Denon AVR 1508 receiver. There is no sound. Pushing the red standby/power button results in a green light for about 2 seconds, then red light flashes. Unplugging it for awhile and restarting it didn't help. Any suggestions?

Most of the time on most electronic equipment, this symptom is caused by the power supply circuit. If you open the unit and check the caps on the power board and the are swollen or burnt looking this is probably what is causing the auto shut off. Goggle your model number and if your lucky you will find the caps to replace. A DIY person can fix this for a few bucks. Take it to a repair shop for 100 TO $150.
