Hickory Deck?
 

Hi,

New to this form and I'm hoping someone can help me.

I am building deck and have an opportunity to buy 3" x 1/4" utility grade hickory planks for the decking. As you know utility grade hickory has a rough sawed finish? I was wondering if it can be sanded, stained, and a polyurethane finish applied to use as decking planks?
