"Frame" for brick porch?
 

We plan to build a used brick porch that is 1 foot high x 4 to 6 feet wide x 30 feet long. We are using full bricks as pavers. What is used to build the frame or mass under the one layer of bricks on top? I'm guessing something low cost like cinder block and mortar, right?

An elevated porch with pavers really needs a solid concrete footer and block or poured concrete walls. Anything less will certainly fail. You can fill between the foundation walls with rock, tamped carefully, then a concrete floor on top.
