How should I seal a slab cutout for pipe?
 

When I opened up a wall I was surprised to find an unsealed rectangular cut-out in the slab, that contained both copper and plastic pipe passing up through the wall sill plate. Please direct me to a picture or description of how to seal this to keep out insects or vermin as well as anything that should be done to protect the pipes.

I also add some steel wool into my foam to keep the vermin from removing it, leaves a bad taste in their mouth.
