pool paving
 

Hi,
we in process of investigating paving options for our salt-pool-in-progress and getting mixed messages re using sandstone pool side.
a few points...we are not using sandstone on coping but would like to crazy pave with sandstone around the perimeter of coping.
2 queries I hope someone can assist with...
1) I have been informed there is no need for a concrete base for crazy paving as long as the fill is compacted (site is on a rock bed - approx 50cms below ground level) - is this true?
2) Also been informed that sandstone will not be a problem with the intended SALT pool - but my research is indicating that one should never use sandstone with salt pool. ??
Can anyone offer advice pls.
