This is a great forum-Here is my concern. My front "stoop" could stand to be replaced-it's gotten to be an eyesore. I was poking around underneath the stoop in the well which leads into the basement. I noticed an opening in the ceiling of the well and found rotting wood above the door (transom) the stoop is above. Could it be part of a cross beam of the house sitting on top of the foundation? yikes. If so, what might repairing this entail? Hope my description makes sense, I've attached 3 pics.
