Those of us who use Facebook are very familiar with the "Like" paradigm. It allows people to express gratitude or clear agreement.
On this forum, I believe "Like" should be used when a response is valuable, taught you something, or demonstrated good effort to respond to the OP's problem.
It is a way for all of us to feel better about going the extra mile for someone who needs help. It is a way for newbie's to payback for the free assistance. Think of it as this forum's version of "Please" and "Thank You" ... or "Nice Job!"
