I'd recommend getting a professional and licensed foundation contractor in, and who has experience with piers, to inspect and determine what is best for your situation. This is not a DIYer project. You could cause damage to the home and to yourself by doing this one on your own.

If your crawl space is not a heated zone your pads should be down to frost level.
