Here are photos of a crack running the entire length (and probably more) of a detached garage. I saw it on a home inspection. The garage is about 20+ feet from the condo unit. Yes there are drainage issues at one side of the garage. My concern is the crack is an indication of a problem with the condo, too. There are 2 stuck doors in the condo. No cracks in the walls. I saw one small 4 inch vertical crack in the backyard stucco from the dirt up.

It all screams "Don't buy!" I know. How much would this cost to repair?

Condos are often built by developers that go to the lowest bidder to get the job done. Those developers are routinely "bottom line kinda guys" that want nothing more than to maximize their income and profits. Looks as if some shortcuts may have been taken when it came to soil compaction and slab thickness. Since garages with condos are constructed at the same time the condos are built you can bet your bottom dollar the condo also has serious issues.

I'd take a couple of steps back.

One side of the crack is maybe a 1/4" higher than the other side. Not good.

I know absolutely nothing, but that's not just a crack, it's a displaced crack. If the condo has sticking doors, take a pass.

I'm having my foundation done tomorrow. It's only off by a little, no interior cracks, hairline step cracks in two places with the bricks. They'll be doing 12 piers for $4600. Your mileage may vary. I looked at a house before buying this one that had 16 piers for $10,000.
