We just installed a new granite countertop and faucet in my master bathroom this past weekend. Everything is working fine except that we cannot get the drain assembly to work correctly. The pipe going into the wall is probably installed too high and because of th is the pivot rod / clevis cannot move freely. I've tried bending clevis every which way but can't figure this out. Also, the new faucet has several hoses attached and they're getting in my way a bit. Anyway, has anyone ever run into this before? I appreciate any help.

Where the pivot goes into the drain pipe, there is a nylon gasket and the nut that connects the pivot to the drain. if the gasket is not seated properly, it can cause binding, also if the 'nut' that holds it in is overtightened, it will also cause binding, the nylon gasket will take care of any leakage, so this nut does not have to be tightened too much.

Most often those pipes can be bent to move out of the way.
