Hi all, In January i had my house refurbished. This included complete new plumbing system.

After moving into the house i found that the water coming from the mains had a very perculiar taste. i contacted the water board who told me they hadn't had any other complaints in my area and couldn't do anything about it until there where.

Is the taste due to the new pipes or new tap or something else? if so will it go eventually?

The taste is probably something in the new piping. It should have been well flushed before you moved back in. I would suggest doing your own flushing through all faucets. Be sure to remove the aerators on all the spouts before flushing since this can clog them or hold in something that is causing the taste.
