We need to make some repairs to our chimney, which looks like it is going to collapse. We live in an old house and want to get the exterior repaired while we are at it. Chimney, Stucco, soffitts, painting, etc. I am looking for someone to take a look at the pictures I took and prepare me for calling a contractor, maybe give me a ballpark figure to get each thing done, and then for everything. I want to prepare before I call. This is in Downingtown, PA. Here are the links to the pictures I took, thanks in advance:

Welcome to the site.
I doubt if any one here will venture a guess on cost, evan if you get contractors out to look at it, it may be hard to get firm prices,before digging into problem areas.
How old is the house, and have you had a look at the foundation and the wood near it?
How old is the roof and do you have any leaks now? Is the chimney still being used?
Have you inspected the wood around the windows, inside and out?

As you might be able to tell I would inspect everything from ground up so that any repairs don't just hide problems that would show up next year or soon after.

The house is about 110 years old. We had a structural eng come out 6 years ago before we bought.

I don't know the age of the roof, but I was told it appears to be less then 5 years old. The chimney is being used for gas heating.

The wood around the ground and second floors are in good shape, the wood around the attick windows is decaying.

I just want a ballpark figure, will I be spending over $2000? $5000? Just a rough guess.

Maybe others would be able to guess, but I would want to read that engineers report, have a stucco guy look at that and brick guy look at the chimney and poke around the trim at the roof for how much rot is there as well as the windows. My fear would be that the stucco has been leaking for years and is hiding a fare amount of rot.
Working around the electrical lines will also add to the cost.
