How to work above window roof?
 

The first floor of my 1920's wood shingle house has a triple window side that extends out beyond the second floor. It has it's own small pitched roof that extends out about 3 feet. I need to replace the cedar shakes on the second floor. I already intend to rent scaffolding to do the second floor that is even with the first floor. How do I get above the windows?
