Porch Addition
 

I'm trying to add a screened in porch over an existing patio, because I'm dealing with two obstacles, a hip roof adjacent to it and a breakfast room bump out, I can't understand how I can layout the roof. I've considered a flat roof but would like to see if I could do a regular roof so my interior ceiling would be high enough to have ceiling fans.

These roof surface intersections can be handled by using Descriptive Geometry, but it is hard to do it this way.

I recommend you make cardboard mockups of these different structures and your desired intersection profiles, and post photos. It may be possible to make some of them structurally sound without causing too many interior problems.
