Roof repair on 1898 house
 

I recieved an estimate of $8200 to have the roof repaired on my 1898 Queen Ann house. The price is for removal of the wood shingles, re-decking & new shingles. Is the price accurate or not. Just looking for everyones oppinion on this. Thanks.

I would get another bid or two and check all their references. When you chose one, check his worker's compensation and liability insurance. And do not pay more than 1/2 before they are finished and the job-site is clean.

Around here that might cost you around $315 - 350 a square with dimensional shingles.

My father was quoted 10k for a raising and rebuild on the roof of a house he is flipping that is 1200sqft, what is the sqft of your home? Id get a second and third opinion, and let the contractors fight for your business.

Just to clarify the previous posters information. A square is a 10x10 area on the roof, or 100 sqft in a space that isnt square.
