looking for filter for old shopvac

I was given a shopvac that I think is at least 20-30 years old. It needs a new filter but I have trouble finding it. The brand is Advance Machine Company, model J108. Does anyone know if this unit needs some type of generic filter that I can still buy?

Update: I tried to find a replacement to the filter shown in the photo. It's made of some type of cloth and has holes in it so I don't think it can be repaired. However, even one or two places that carry some replacement parts for this vac did not have the filter listed. Do you know if I can find a replacement?
