Hello all-

I'm thinking about spray painting 4 half louvered bifold doors. I have a small compressor (the simple $300 light duty porter cable that comes with the two brad nailers). Does anyone have suggestions as to what i should be looking for in a spray gun? Something on the cheaper side?

Welcome Learning:
I wold look into a Wagner power sprayer. No air is used so there's no overspray. Even most of the larger commercial spray painters have gone to an airless system. Much simpler to use and clean up.

It doesn't take an incredible gun to spray latex paint.
I prefer metal cups and gun bodies.
Siphon, convertible to pressure is a nice feature to have.
BUT
With that small compressor, you may be better off with a gravity fed gun with the cup on top. It takes steady continuous pressure to apply paint successfully. Porter Cable and Campbell Hausfeld make a gravity fed guns that may be worth checking out.

Be careful of overspray.

Use lots of paper and tape around items you don't want paint on. Apply more thin coats vs laying on thick coats. You can always back roll with a paint roller on ceilings/walls.
