I use wood filler, you will need to try to pick a filler that is a hint darker than your floor ( filler dries lighter in color than what it is out of the can) then a little bit of poly so seal it up but agin try to pick the right sheen. Before you use the filler mask the dent off with masking tape following the outside edges. This is to help stop the filler from getting on the good part of the floor.
One thing it is almost impossible to get it perfect but you can get rather close which of course is better than what it looks like now.
