Hi
I wish to replace the old window in my kitchen. The opening for the new window has to be double the size in length then the old window which means enlarging the opening. It is only a single storey double brink extension, but I will still need to put a lentil in as the old window is 3 foot wide but the new one is 6 ft wide.

Another option is to leave the brick out above the window.
You could build the window out to the brick face if you need to....or instal some larger trim boards over the area.

Be creative and draw it out. Or find a mason.
