I have a Emerson E20 garbage disposer that has a bottle cap jammed in it. I can not rotate it with the "KEY TOOL" to free it up. It does hum when turned on. How can I get the bottle cap out?

Take the splash guard out of the disposer and use a broomstick/mop-handle to rotate the cutter table. Try turning it counterclockwise to break it loose, then with the breaker turned off, reach in with tongs and pick up the bottle cap. Turn the breaker back on and turn the switch on; you may have to push the reset button to get it going again.
Be careful, a garbage disposal doesn't recognize a hand as anything it can't chew up.
