1961 bungalow homeowner in Toronto.
-had a few upgrades over the last 6 yrs, since I bought it.
New roof, driveway, kitchen, slate flooring, interior doors, bathroom.

Most of the work other than the roof/drive I got my hands a little dirty, but made sure had pros for the real work!

Newest project is planning a basement walkout. Getting new survey prepared and a permit shortly.

Up here we have to do underpinning when digging out a new footing, not sure if that is the same in non-cold regions. I am looking at a walkout to small landing and then steps running parallel to house so as not to take over my backyard.

Would really appreciate any comments/gotchas from others who have done the same, as well as any ballpark dollars spent.
