Default 2nd story addition

hello. I have a few questions in the early stages of planning a 650 square foot second story addition 1 bedroom small kitchen + large bath. i am in the NY area and wondering what it the ball park rate should expect to pay. the house is structurally sound (as far as i can tell). looking for average square foot rates to go by. thanks

Welcome BHM:
I would look up a professional appraiser (not a realtor), take her/him a sketch of the addition and ask the going rate. Appraisers have up-to-date information on such things and can be a big help. It may cost up to $50 to confer with an appraiser but its like money in the bank when contractors come around bidding on the work.
