We have a 4'x4' cement slab coming out of the back of our garage. We need to add one or two steps to it. Is there any way to attach cement steps to this slab? We could build the forms and pour the cement ourselves, but would they attach to the slab? Also would like to put some pavers on top of the slab but have been told that fastening them to the cement slab with cement wouldn't work the best. Would they attach with masonry epoxy? Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome. You didn't say whether the steps are on top of the slab going up or beside the slab going down. How many inches to the next level you want to get to?

Post a picture for some better suggestions.
Whatever steps you make have to end up at least 4" below the doors threshold so water does not get in under it.
May want to concider checking into preformed steps, you can get them with the needed hand railing already installed.
Some Lowes stores stock or can order this brand.

I need two steps going down from the top of the slab to the yard. It is about 14" from top of slab to the ground. Is there anyway to attach poured cement for the steps to the slab?

The problem you have with that is the face of the step or riser is 7" and the slab is only 3 1/2 to 4 inches thick. So your best bet would be to form up two steps, the top one would be an extendion of the slab.
