I was wondering what the best type of grass seed is for a residential lawn that will likely see some fairly heavy traffic with dogs and soon to be children?

I live in Iowa and I think in the cool zone. I have heard that Kentucky Bluegrass is the way to go, but wanted to get some opinions.

I used to live in Wisconsin - a similar climate. What you want is a mix of grasses for your lawn even some that are not bluegrass like fescue. This will make your lawn durable against drought, pests, sun and shade. Sometimes they will include ryegrass to help get the lawn started because the bluegrass & Fescue takes longer to germinate.
