Building Permits

Anyone have any idea typically how much an average house costs in permits to build?

It varies with the location, where I live it is under $500 and I'm sure it could run up to around $5,000 on the West Coast and some other areas. From the sticks to the beaches or major cities; the more luxury you find, the higher the prices.
