Drop Crown Molding question
 

I am thinking of doing the drop crown molding and put rope light behind it. I just have a few questions...

1) Would it look strange to have it on 1 wall or should I do the whole room?

2) Is it out of the question for a room only 8' tall?

3) Paint to match the wall, or stain to match the woodwork in the room?

I'm a noob just getting started with home remodeling. So any help is greatly appreciated.

I have seen the drop treatment on 1 wall, 2 walls and all walls; it looks right in place every time.

I have also seen 5" ogee gutter used for the drop and it looked real nice too. Its all in the creativity and eyes of the beholder.
