Dry to Concrete
I have an extremely dry basement. The exterior walls are 12" block filled with concrete and coated on the outside with foundation coating (thick) with 6 mil poly pressed into coating while still sticky. There are footer drains around the three sides, with the fourth side basement floor at ground level. I want to finish the basement with drywall using Liquid Nails Drywall Adhesive BC-150 which is touted by the manufacturer to be a legitimate application. Have any of you experienced this product in this use? I would appreciate a reply as I expect to get started hanging the sheetrock two days after the Superbowl game.

Hmmm
Are you saying you are going to adhere the drywall directly to the bock?
If so, it's not a good idea for your area. You should have at least a 1 inch styrofoam board against the block to give it a thermal barrier. Otherwise you may end up with moisture issues. Just because to block is dry, it is not dry....moisture always migrates in a vapor , that is why a basement is cooler in the summer. We have other threads on this subject, it is a common issue. How are you going to run electrical and heat around the room? What is the purpose of the room...we want to know everything.:D |
