Hello all, I'm thinking of building a mud room, and would like to hear about other people's opinion/ideas on type of foundation. I'm not sure if I want to pour a footing, slab or just frame it out like a deck with wood.it'll probably be no more than 8x8 ft. thanks.
Can you give us a little more info? Like, what type of exterior wall are you going to tie into, what type of roof are you planning over it, are you planning on using an existing opening, have you checked with your local codes office?
Take a scetch of what you want to do to the building department, they will give you ideas of what they will need before they issue a permit. Sometimes they make some of those decisions for you.
