Default Solar Attic Fans

I saw one at Lowes the other day. Anyone have one?

It's an electric attic fan with thermo that uses a solar array for it's sole energy needs.

Hello TX:
I haven't seen the solar atic fan but it sounds like a win, win energy saver; it uses no eletricity from the grid and helps to cool the attic thus saving on A/C cost.
I personally prefer the ridge and soffit vents which are also powered by the sun but they keep the whole deck cooler, rather than in spots. Plus, there is nothing to wear out or burn out.

I agree with Glenn. The best way is natural ventilation. Save on not buying solar and improve your natural venting, less to go wrong.
Folks are just never in the attic on a hot day,and don't see whne the fan quits.
On another note, I would also improve my insulation in the attic, to help on heating and cooling costs.
Check out www.nuwool.com for a really good solution to that.
