Nice wood work, to bad they arn't cupboards and drawers and a proper hand rail would really kill the look.

Very cool look but completely unsafe (and out of code) If you could build it with black wrought iron railings, it might work. Innovative thinking OwnerBuilder. I wuold have just cut an access door on the left and stuffed my junk under the stairs.

If you draw in where the framing members are you will notice that most or all of this is just decoration.
