Tile backsplash in kitchen
 

We're redoing a small kitchen: putting in concrete countertops and installing glass tiles as backsplash. We are also planning on tiling with the same glass tiles the entire wall in the dining room which has a peak-through to the kitchen.
I've ordered some tile samples just to help pick out colors, and carrying these samples around, I notice that they chip really easily. Are these always this fragile? Do people have problems with the glass chipping once the tiles are on the wall? Any advice?

They shouldn't chip that easy.
You many have cheap tile.
Once you get the tile on there it isn't going to see much traffice or abuse.
But you still want to install a quality tile.

Just saw glass tile backsplash installed on This Old House project.
Since they are translucent, you don't want to use notched trowel to apply the adhesive or you will see the notch lines through the tile.
