Any suggestions on why registration is so low?

This community has great Google/Yahoo rankings and actually pretty good traffic. However, the registration numbers are very low.

Anyone have any ideas on why?

Does the design make the forum hard to read or navigate?

It looks just like many other vBulletin forums. I've never had a problem navigating. Home improvement forums aren't all very fast. I have been on several others and the fastest one is a war-zone.

A person's home is sensitive and personal. Many people will not ask a question for fear that they may not look very smart. I run into this very often in remodeling. This forum offers an anonymous opportunity to ask the questions that a person may be afraid to ask someone they know. I'm suprised that more people aren't taking advantage of this. There is no dumb question about a house. If you are reading and not posting, register. It's free. Then you can find out what you need to know from professionals and other homeowners. If you feel that you can help someone out. Post a reply. No-one is going to laugh at you. Opinions are welcome. There are some really neat pictures posted in the forums and in the gallery. If you have interesting pictures of your home or someone elses home, share them with us. Everybody loves pictures!

I might think about re-doing the graphics at the top. try some richer colors and a more 'delux' look. Yes I know that is vague. but I just think the banner could use some work.I would look into the color scheme, and find colors that say 'proffessional' and 'quality'
Don't take this wrong I am not tring to insult anyone. It sounds stupid that the banner could be responsible for postings but graphics are a major part of the web, and first impressions and whatknott.

and a free beer with each post

This is an old thread but I am still gonna put in my two cents. I will start out with I think this site is setup wonderfully. I think the registrations will pickup momentum with time. The site appears to be young yet. There is already a good many great folks here. The great folks will draw more great folks and that in turn will draw more.

The only thing I can see that I would change about this forum is to bring in the reputation feature some vbulletin forums have. I am not sure that would pick up participation but it might. It would be a way to give the good contributers a pat on the back and let them know they are appreciated. I have seen a few here I wanted to give some positive rep to. Even without the rep the site looks great.

Help! I'm not able to ask a question. I'm an old lady. Can you give me specifics?
