Hi guys can someone give me the straight answer on residential permit in Ont.?
I'm wonder if i can buy land maybe agricultural, then get a permit to for a workman garage. The garage would be like an apartment and i would just live in it quietly.

That would be a question for the district, city, or municipality that you find the land in.

yes i know that answer. I'm saying it will look like a garage from the outside but inside it will be an apartment. The problem is the permit are too much trouble, or not even possible. But how can they prevent you for living there? I see many illegal apartment in Toronto that are in garages etc.
I'm thinking a shell corporation.

Check the rules on mineral rights. Perhaps if you buy the land and have your shell company file a claim, you could lease it to the shell company and set up a camp and live in your trailer under the much easier rules and the municipality would have nothing to say.
