Default Sealing plastic laundry tub

I have a plastic (resin) tub in the laundry room and after about 8 years of use it's pretty well stained. In fact, the only thing that got to the stains was 0000 steel wool. Now, how do I keep the tub from staining that badly again (yea, I hear ya with the, 'rinse it out and do periodic cleaning'. Well, it's not likely so I'm looking for a sealant for this app.

TIA!

Welcome IronHat:
Latex and acrylics will not work with the water. You will need a plastic finish which you can probably get from a dealer of fiberglass tubs or faux marble vanity tops.

Ah, hadn't thought of those suppliers. I was sure that the latex or acrylic products were a no-go. I puzzled about Thompson's water seal but I have my doubts due to the lack of penetration into a resin.

Thanks!
