Custom closet
Hey all - I am going to be building a custom closet. What is the best wood to use?

Some people line the whole closet with cedar.
If your painting the shelves I would use mdf. But that depends on how fancy you want to get.

HMM. MDF. Didn't think of that. I know it is paintable. Do the edges route well if I went to get a little fancy?

Mdf routers like butter, the cut edges do soakup paint and need to be sanded between coats but it is nice to work with.

Great thanks Neal. Hadn't thought of mdf for some reason. It's a lot cheaper that the pone shelving at Home Depot.
