Most all dimensional lumber is cut longer than it's nominal length and often times not square either. Pre-cut studs are called pre-cut for a reason, they should be cut to the proper length of 92-5/8" and used to build 8' walls.
If you have a speed square, set your saw where your ready to cut and place your square against the board using it as a guide for your saw to run on.
